The star broke her back at TwitchCon in 2022 – but hasn’t lost her sense of humour
Adriana Chechik had her audience in stitches after pretending to be a reluctant porn star, when anyone who knows her knows the complete opposite is true.

The 32-year-old, who retired from adult entertainment in late 2022 after a career spanning nearly a decade, put on a theatrical fake-crying performance while joking about desperately trying to escape the industry, before gleefully admitting she absolutely loved her job.

“I tried. I tried so hard. I tried so hard to get out,” she wailed, tears streaming, before delivering the punchline with a smirk: “And my pimp, he just like… You know, I love my job.”She immediately clocked the reaction, adding: “Was that too morbid of a joke? Was that a little too morbid for you guys?”

The joke works entirely because of who Chechik is, someone who has always been unapologetically open about genuinely enjoying her time in adult entertainment.

What does Adriana Chechik do now?

Since retiring, Chechik has built a wildly successful second career as a Twitch streamer and content creator, amassing over 860,000 followers on the platform and 4.2 million on Instagram. She has spoken openly about how Twitch gave her a new sense of identity and purpose, but has never pretended she hated what came before it.

Chechik was among the most popular performers in the adult industry during her career, which ran from 2013 to 2022, winning numerous awards along the way. Her decision to retire was largely driven by a desire to show a different side of herself to the world, with a move into Twitch streaming opening up a whole new chapter.

Speaking on the Holly Randall Unfiltered Podcast, she explained what the platform meant to her.

“Twitch has been the best blessing for me,” she said. “I wasn’t even making money from it at first, but I was just somewhere where people were valuing me for me.”

She also spoke about feeling cut off from the outside world during her porn career.

“I was craving intellectuality and learning, and I just wasn’t getting it. I was so enwrapped in porn that I didn’t have any notion of the outside world.”

Her post-porn life has not been without its difficulties, however. In October 2022, she broke her back in two places after jumping into a shallow foam pit at TwitchCon, requiring intensive surgery and ongoing rehabilitation.

Former adult film actress Adriana Chechik has been retired since late 2022 and seemingly isn’t looking back.

The former porn star was among the most popular in the industry during her career, which spanned from 2013 to 2022.

However, a transition to streaming on Twitch has led Chechik down a different path of fame and has made her retirement from the physically taxing adult film world far easier for the 32-year-old.

Chechik discussed her decision to retire from porn in an interview on the Holly Randall Unfiltered Podcast, noting that she wanted to show a different side of herself to the world by streaming on Twitch.

“Twitch has been the best blessing for me,” Chechik explained.

“I wasn’t even making money from it [at first], but I was just somewhere where people were valuing me for me.”

The feeling of being somewhat dehumanized as a porn actress is a common one for many stars of that industry, making Adriana’s move to Twitch something that felt like a breath of fresh air for the award-winning adult star.

Furthermore, the insulated nature of the porn industry led to Chechik feeling cut off from her various interests and people outside of her bubble.

“I was craving intellectuality and learning, and I just wasn’t getting it… I was so enwrapped in porn that I didn’t have any notion of the outside world,” Chechik said.

“Getting on Twitch really opened my eyes,” Chechik admitted.

“The experiences and conversations on there have made me realize, ‘you’re more than just how you’ve fetishized yourself,’ because I fetishized myself; it also gave me the understanding that I am more than this.”

In the time since leaving porn, Chechik has amassed over 860,000 followers on Twitch and over 4.2 million on Instagram.

In the interview with Holly Randall, Chechik also noted her interest in becoming a life coach as a way to help others improve their lives and seek out what they aspire to do.

Chechik explained: “I want to get into life coaching. I call it kindness coaching. I want to get into helping people realize how kind the world is.”

However, her life post-pornography has been far from perfect, as the Pennsylvania native broke her back in October 2022 by jumping into a shallow foam pit at that year’s TwitchCon.

The injury required intensive surgery and rehab, with the streamer still experiencing the effects of such a severe injury to this day.

After being asked whether she regrets taking part in the videos, Rhoades resolves: “I do, I honestly tell people if I could go back I would give up everything to have my dignity and respect back and for people to not be able to see me in that way.”

And it’s not the first time Rhoades has negatively spoken out about her experiences of the adult film industry.

In 2022, she slammed the adult film industry as ‘100 percent fake’ and accused those within it as treating actors like ‘circus acts’.

She also added that she is ‘pretty much asexual’ and doesn’t ‘even like having sex’.
